Five application features of slewing bearings
Slewing bearings are large special structure bearings that can simultaneously withstand large axial loads, radial loads, overturning moments and other combined loads. Usually, they have mounting holes, lubricating oil holes and sealing devices, which can meet the different needs of various main machines under various working conditions. In addition, the slewing bearing itself has the characteristics of compact structure, convenient guiding rotation, simple installation and easy maintenance.
Application 1: Rust prevention
Special coatings can maintain the performance of the bearings. Although the equipment has a long durability by spraying special paint or oxidation treatment on the outer surface, the commonly used rust prevention method is chrome plating (TDC) or nickel plating.
Application 2: Lubrication and sealing
Most bearing failures are caused by improper lubrication or impurity contamination. Grease overflow is acceptable in many construction equipment (with or without sealing devices), but for some other applications, such as robots, positioning devices and control devices, grease leakage is not allowed. In many applications, grease leakage will affect product quality and cause safety problems.
Application 3: Ball and roller spacers
Rolling elements are usually separated by individual spacers. This structure can maintain the smoothness of movement and is therefore widely used. Special applications require special ball or roller spacers. Bearings installed on horizontal shafts or continuously rotating generators and bearings used in occasions with high requirements for positioning and reliability can use strip-shaped combined cages to keep the rolling elements in the correct circumferential position.
Application 4: Gears
In many cases, gear teeth can be machined on the inner or outer ring of the bearing to simplify the structure of the drive system. To avoid problems, it is best to seek the help of gear experts when determining the drive system structure.
Application 5: Selection of connection method
The connection between the turntable bearing and the base and the rotating parts is mainly bolted. Therefore, the number, diameter, length, precision and especially the installation of the bolts are very important. Not only is the arrangement of bolts different in different applications, but the inner and outer rings are also different.
