Bearing maintenance methods

1. Cleaning: Disassemble the bearing, record the appearance and confirm the remaining amount of lubricant. Use a cleaning agent such as gasoline or kerosene to clean the bearings. Pay attention to protect the bearing from direct contact with dirt in the container, and avoid damaging the bearing rolling surface during rough cleaning.

2. Maintenance: Check the condition of the raceway surface, rolling surface, and mating surface of the bearing, the wear of the cage, and the damage caused by the increase in bearing clearance and the decrease in dimensional accuracy. For non-separable small ball bearings, you can hold the inner ring horizontally with one hand and rotate the outer ring to check whether it is smooth.

3. Oil bath lubrication: Immerse part of the bearing in the oil tank. The lubricating oil is brought up by the rotating bearing parts and then flows back to the oil tank. The oil level should be slightly lower than the center of the lowest rolling element.

4. Oil dripping lubrication: Use an oil pump to transport filtered oil to the bearing components. The amount of oil dripping is generally one drop every 3-8 seconds. Excessive oil amount will cause the bearing temperature to increase.

5. Circulating oil lubrication: Use an oil pump to transport the filtered oil to the bearing components. The lubricating oil after passing through the bearing is filtered and cooled before use. This method is suitable for bearing components with higher rotation speeds.

6. Spray lubrication: Use dry compressed air to mix with lubricating oil through a sprayer to form oil mist. In the spray bearing, the air flow can effectively cool the bearing and prevent the intrusion of impurities. This method is suitable for the lubrication of high-speed and high-temperature bearing parts.

7. Injection lubrication: Use an oil pump to inject high-pressure oil into the bearing through the nozzle, and the oil injected into the bearing flows into the oil groove through the other end of the bearing. When the bearing rotates at high speed, the rolling elements and cage also rotate at a very high speed to form an airflow in the surrounding air. It is difficult to send lubricating oil to the bearing using general lubrication methods. At this time, the lubricating oil must be sprayed with high-pressure injection. In the bearing, the position of the nozzle should be between the inner ring and the center of the cage.
