How to choose bearing grease

Bearings are parts that support the shaft, used to guide the rotational movement of the shaft and bear the load transmitted from the shaft to the frame.Bearings are widely used in the machinery industry and require strict accessories and basic parts. They are the supporting components of the rotating shafts or movable parts of various machines, and are also the supporting components that rely on the rolling of rolling bodies to realize the rotation of the main engine. Statistics show that about 40% of bearing damage is related to poor lubrication. Most rolling bearing failures are directly or indirectly related to improper lubrication. This includes the use of unsuitable lubricants, aging lubricants, and insufficient lubrication. Reasonable lubrication is the key factor to ensure the reliable operation and prolong life of rolling bearings. If the bearings can be lubricated correctly, the bearings can achieve the longest working life.

The main functions of grease in rolling bearings are as follows:

1) Reduce friction and wear: Prevent metal contact and reduce friction and wear at the contact parts of the rings, rolling elements and cages that make up the bearing.

2) Prolong fatigue life: The rotational fatigue life of the bearing is extended if the rolling contact surface is well lubricated during rotation. Conversely, if the oil viscosity is low and the thickness of the lubricating oil film is not good, it will be shortened. The oil film formed by the grease can effectively prolong the fatigue life of the bearing.

3) Discharge of frictional heat and cooling: oil circulation can be used to discharge the heat generated by friction or the heat transmitted from the outside to achieve the effect of cooling. Prevent the bearing from overheating and prevent the lubricating oil itself from aging.

4) Others: Prevent foreign matter from intruding into the bearing, or prevent rust.

Properties of Bearing High Temperature Grease

1) Bearing high-temperature grease has a high dropping point, good oxidation resistance and pumpability, and can prolong the bearing life.

2) It has excellent extreme pressure and anti-wear properties, lubricity, high temperature oxidation and anti-rust properties.

3) Bearing high-temperature grease has higher operating temperature and longer service life, which is more than 5 times that of ordinary lithium-based grease.

4) It has better anti-fretting wear performance.
